Marriott Rewards and United MileagePlus:
Travel reward programs are exceedingly popular in part due to the rise of the so called wanderlust craving but also because many companies provide great incentives for loyal customers. Two giants of the travel industry are United Airlines and Marriott Hotels – if you are a member of both of the loyalties programs offered by these companies you may be eligible to participate in the Rewards Plus Program. Joining the RewardsPlus can be completed online but you will need information for your Marriott Rewards Account as well as the information for your United MileagePlus rewards account. Without registered accounts for both of these programs you are not eligible to participate in the RewardsPlus Program (the two rewards account work somewhat synergistically in this case).
Details Regarding The Marriott and United RewardsPlus Program:
- To join the RewardsPlus Program you will need to provide your Marriott Rewards Number and your MileagePlus Account Number to verify both of your accounts
- Both the Marriott Rewards and United MileagePlus accounts are free to sign up for and require no payment dues – using your account when making purchases with the companies earn you reward points for future use
- If you are a platinum elite member with Marriott Rewards your level with United will automatically be upgraded to Silver Status at no fee
- Being a Marriott Rewards member along with RewardsPlus allows you to get a discount exchange when transfer points to United Miles (20%) and offers available for when redeeming Miles for special packages
Marriott Hotels are located throughout the world and United Flights travel throughout the world so it makes a lot of sense that these two travel-centric companies would team up in the RewardsPlus program. If you are already a member of these rewards programs you will be able to create an account to make your rewards go even further. If you are not an account holder both accounts can be created online for free (registration with valid email is required).
