Capital One Zero Percent Settlement

• Provides information in regards to Margaret Murr and David Reign v. Capital One Bank
• The case is in the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia
• Consumers can file a claim with the 8-digit Notice ID number and all claims must be filed by 7/1/15

The Capital One Zero Percent Class Action Settlement revolves around customers using a 0% Access Check or No Hassle Check on their Capital One credit card.  Class members may receive a cut of the settlement pie if they used this 0% access check between the dates of Aug. 1, 2008 and Jan. 2, 2015.  Capital one denies are allegations of fraud but have agreed to settle in order to avoid a long, expensive trail by jury.

Capital One Zero Percent Categories (as defined by the Courts)

• Cat 1: Members who only used one (1) “0% Check on an account and were charged interest on their purchase balance because of the 0% Check” (auto $5.50 payment, no claim filing required)
• Cat 2: Members who used more than one (i.e. 2, 3, 4 , 5 etc) “0% Check on an account at least three months apart and were charged interest on their purchase balance because of the 0% Check” (MUST submit a claim in order to receive a settlement payment)
• Cat 3: used one or more 0% Checks but were not charged interest on their purchase will have to submit a claim in order to receive a measly $2 settlement
